Objectives
To work as part of a cross-functional team providing specialist professional advice and interventions. To represent the Pensions Regulator's legal views to internal and external parties and to actively participate in commercial negotiations.
Roles & responsibilities
- Providing legal expertise to cases
- Providing technical information for the development of external guidance on precedents and application of rulings
- Supporting effective negotiation and arbitration for disputes concerning setting of appropriate recovery plans
- Negotiating with trustees, actuaries and employers in respect of recovery plans
- Escalating high-priority issues as required
- Identifying and developing relevant improvements to team processes
- Contributing to knowledge management process
Experience
- Knowledge and experience in pensions law
- Corporate insolvency and restructuring experience
- Experience of corporate mergers and acquisitions
- Experience showing a broad commercial awareness - banking and investment markets, products and risks

Qualifications
- Solicitor or barrister qualified to work in the UK with at least three years' practical experience
- Graduate BSc/LLB/BA (Hons) Degree or equivalent
